Betty Jean Everman, 88, of Burlington died December 21, 2018, at Prairie Ridge Care Center in Mediapolis, Iowa.  Born December 18, 1930 in Garden Grove, Iowa, she was the daughter of Harry G. Lang and Lura R. Thompson Lang.

 

On October 12, 1951, she married Karl C. Everman at Corydon, Iowa.  Betty and Karl moved to Mediapolis in 1962 where they remained until his death in June 1994.  Betty moved to Burlington shortly after.

 

Betty graduated from Allerton High School in 1948.  She was a homemaker, beautician and worked many clerical jobs throughout her life.

 

Survivors include two daughters; Linda (Dan) Anderson of Burlington and Eve Steele of Mount

Pleasant; four grandchildren, Stacy, Tami, Corey and Ashley; three great-grandchildren, Abby, Lyla and Michael; and many nieces and nephews.  Betty was preceded in death by her husband, parents, a brother, Robert Lang, and a sister, Giovonna Lang.

 

A private graveside service with the family will be at the Kossuth Cemetery.

So sorry for your loss. I met her 2 years ago when I moved into Robinson heights where she resided before moving to prairie ridge.

So very sorry to hear about her passing. She was a wonderful lady full of life. I met her almost 12 years ago and haven’t stayed in touch as much as I wanted but I have always thought about her throughout the years. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

So very sorry to hear of Betty’s passing I loved her dearly she was one of our group that we took to supper once a month at Gators there was about seven of us we always had a great time and then we took her home safely I worked with her for a short time over at the workforce center she will be greatly missed my sympathy to all of you .

Betty was such a kind lady. I knew her when she and Karl lived in Mediapolis and would visit a bit with her when she came in the grocery store in Burlington where I worked. She truly will be missed.
